Bible Study on Putting God First according to 1 Corinthians 3, Isaiah 41-44, Revelations 1-2, Joshua 6, 1 Kings 16, Matthew 22

1 Corinthians: 3. 10. According to the grace of God which was given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder I laid a foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let each man take heed how he buildeth thereon. 11. For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12. But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13. each man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man’s work of what sort it is. Gold is best representation of our foundation like the refiners fire and gold will shine when heated.

God Is First And Last
God is first and always first as there is power in first. Everything is temporary in this world. Even the ages and time changes.
God is constantly first. He is first every morning we are awake. For putting God first will witness the fulness of life by God intent. This is witnessed in the following scriptures.

– Isaiah: 44. 6. Thus saith Jehovah, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.

– Isaiah: 41. 4. Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, the first, and with the last, I am he.

– Isaiah: 48. 12. Hearken unto me, O Jacob, and Israel my called: I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

– Revelation: 1. 8. I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

– Revelation: 2. 8. And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived [again]:

– Revelation: 22. 12. Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is. 13. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Putting God First

Genesis: 4. 3. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto Jehovah. 4. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And Jehovah had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5. but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. The difference between Abel and Cain is that Abel put God first by offering his first born and first fruit. Only first fruit has the power of God not in second fruit, third fuit, etc. The first fruit and first born belongs to God. When we dictates the fate of first, your first will loose its edge and power. When the first born is gone, it’s gone is gone. Second or third born can come from somewhere.

God reminds not to fear, bake me a cake first no matter what the size of the cake. 1 Kings: 17. 13. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it forth unto me, and afterward make for thee and for thy son.

My first victory also belongs to God. Joshua: 6. 26. And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his first-born shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

In contrary, not honoring God by putting him first has many grave consequences.  1 Kings: 16. 34. In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof with the loss of Abiram his first-born, and set up the gates thereof with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by Joshua the son of
Nun.

Loving God first as our first love is our greatest commandment. Matthew: 22. 38. This is the great and first commandment. And we shall never leave God as our first love as reminded in Revelation: 2. 4. But I have [this] against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.

Bible Study on Making More Room For God according to 1Kings 4, Revelations 3:20, Isaiah 43:18

If one desires to make space for God in your life, one had to intentionality make space for Him to linger. How do we make room for God?

1. We must send a signal to our guest like the Shunammite woman and husband have prepared for Elijah to break his journey. Revelation: 3. 20. Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. God does not impose himself onto us, He only enters our lives when we invite Him. Because where we surrender our lives to God is where He will gives us our breakthroughs. He can only breakthrough for us unless we fully surrender our lives to Him. God is a gentleman, He will only enter our lives if we allow Him and invite Him in. Allowing Him to come closer into our lives, household and our finances, He will make rivers of living water flows through you beyond what you can even image possible.

2 Kings: 4. 8. And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. 9. And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passeth by us continually. 10. Let us make, I pray thee, a little chamber on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a seat, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither. 11. And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber and lay there. 12. And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him. 13. And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people. 14. And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no son, and her husband is old. 15. And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. 16. And he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thy handmaid. 17. And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season, when the time came round, as Elisha had said unto her.

2. Throw out the old things? It’s very difficult and a challenge to throw out or keep our old things. Are you willing to decrease and so that He can increase in your life?

We must focus on the future than on our past. Do not allow the glory or gloomy of the past affect the best has installed for you. If we are persistently reluctant and being negative, we are the only person missing out on all the goodness from God. God wants to bless us with breakthroughs beyond what we can even imagine.

Isaiah: 43. 18. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19. Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. In order to have more room to contain, we pray to God to renew our minds and to allow Him to take control and do new things in our lives.

Bible Study on There Is Nothing New Under The Sun according to Ecclesiastes 1-12, 2 Timothy 3:16

The book of Ecclesiastes is a assemble of truth so that people can learn and change.Ecclesiastes: 1. 9. That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10. Is there a thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been long ago, in the ages which were before us.

Our lives can be changed when we yield of our lives to God and Holy Spirit. The changes might be in the way we speak and live. We change so that we can touch souls and transform lives around us. We need to allow God to do a deeper change in us and to reveal his plans to us.

2 Timothy: 3. 16. Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. 17. That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

Under the sun everything is vanity and nothing new. What you are thinking, others in the past and present have already done.

Be Sensible
Applying Wisdom In All Areas Of Our Lives and let the truth sink deeper into our soul.
Ecclesiastes: 10. 1. Dead flies cause the oil of the perfumer to send forth an evil odor; [so] doth a little folly outweigh wisdom and honor. 2. A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left. 3. Yea also, when the fool walketh by the way, his understanding faileth him, and he saith to every one [that] he is a fool. 4. If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for gentleness allayeth great offences. Cos it take far less to run something than to create it. Avoid foolish impulse as every good things marred by a single reckless moments is destructive.

Think Forward
Using our minds and look a little way ahead. Be a little careful and don’t be surprised by all the hindrance and problems ahead of us according to Ecclesiastes: 10. 8. He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh through a wall, a serpent shall bite him. 9. Whoso heweth out stones shall be hurt therewith; [and] he that cleaveth wood is endangered thereby. 10. If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

Be Bold
There are things we do not know. We do not know success until we tasted failure. If we are going to fail may it fail fast so that we can restart soon. Our job is to grapple with what actually is and what led within reach.
Do what you can at the place you are. Few great enterprise waited for the ideal conditions as it shall never arrive. Ecclesiastes: 11. 1. Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days. 2. Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. 3. If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be. 4. He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. 5. As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, [nor] how the bones [do grow] in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all. 6. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Be Joyful
Walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes. It has a dream worth reaching and feeling of fulfilment when accomplishing it. Ecclesiastes: 11. 7. Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun. 8. Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. 9. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 10. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

Joy is created to dance with goodness and not alone. While your youth is passing but celebrate it where you are right now. As everything is vanity under the sun.

Be Godly
Remember your creator.  Ecclesiastes: 12. 1. Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Be Wise
Under their master, both the worker and their works matter deeply. If we see things in new perspective, there will always be new things that matter to God.
Ecclesiastes: 12. 9. And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he pondered, and sought out, [and] set in order many proverbs. 10. The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written uprightly, [even] words of truth. 11. The words of the wise are as goads; and as nails well fastened are [the words of] the masters of assemblies, [which] are given from one shepherd. 12. And furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

In conclusion, we need to come back to God because it’s not our achievements that matter in the end. Holy is the Lord Amen!
