Mother’s Day Special Bible Study On Biblical Motherhood

Being a mother has never been easy in current time as well in ancient time. Besides, taking care of herself, she also needs to take care of her husband, children, parents as well as in-laws. In other words, when a young lady becomes a married women, not only her status changes but also the tremendous amount of household responsibilities that a mother has to shoulder.

A mother’s biggest characteristics is her unconditional love to her children and family. And this mental image of mothers has always been portrayed in commercial advertisements. But do you know that a good mother in biblical perspectives has got even more characteristics to imitate and emulate from.

A Mother Speaks with Wisdom and Kindness

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. (Pro31.26)

 

A Mother Raises Up Her Family

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. (Pro31.28)

A Mother Works Hard And Help Support Her Family

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. (Pro31.31

 

A Mother Is Kindness and Humility

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (1Co13.4)

 

A Mother is Gentle and Sensible

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (1Co13.5)

 

A Mother is the Pillar of Strength

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (1Co13.7)

 

A Mother Speaks in Wisdom and Authority

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. (1Co13.8)
