Bible Study On The Promise Of God

The Promise Of God

Everything starts with a promise. Whether wealth,  companion,  healing.
Word of God will never fail, cos God is not a liar unlike the Son of man. The  promises will come to pass within your life time.

Matt 14:2 Jesus was moved with compassion. Thus they were healed.

People can have pity or sympathize, nothing will happen. But when God is compassion,  transformation will happen.

They hunger for God, despair and desparate will attract God’s compassion. Matt 18:24 desparate people all received healing.

Acts 10:38 how God annoited Jesus with Holy Spirit and Power.  Many people have the Holy Spirit but without power. Cos they have not gone through prayer and fasting.

Miracles proves that our God is a living God and God is with us. God approves of you by giving you miracles in your life.

We serve a bigger God and the size of the man is bigger than any problems. Cos the Holy Spirit within you is the Lion of Juddah.

God is God,  he will approve you with miracle,  science and wonder. In order for you to disprove your enemies. So that you can be a testimony of his glory.

Sickness does not come from God but from the devil and demon. Most sickness are demonic possession.

It’s God annoiting that will break all yok and all burden of bondages and set you free.

Bible Study On Discipleship In Ruth’s Perspective

The most important mission of every Christian is to make disciples and spread the salvation of God.

Matthew: 28. 19. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:

Matt 28:20. teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

What are the characteristics & practice of a disciple under Discipleship?

In Ruth’s case, she was obedient and reliant on her mother in law for wisdom. Naomi although a widow herself but cares alot for Ruth, as though she was her own daughter. She also wished that Ruth would have a fulfilling life.

In ch. 2 food is used to indicate Boaz’s acceptance of and generosity towards Ruth beyond all expectations by consciously shaping his actions in a direct reversal of Deuteronomy’s ban on Moabites.

In ch. 3, Boaz tells Ruth to hold out her garment and then places six measures of barley on her—an unrealistically heavy amount—which makes her appear pregnant. Ruth tells Naomi that Boaz did not want her to return to her mother-in-law ‘empty’. This use of ‘empty’ plays off of the other occurrence in ch. 1, implying that Obed’s birth fills Naomi’s emptiness.

Boaz measured six ephahs of barley: As a proper gentleman, Boaz did not sent Ruth home empty-handed. Not having any chocolates, he gave her six handfuls of grain. The added word ephahs is almost certainly incorrect; that would be more than thirty-three gallons (120 liters) of grain, more than Ruth could carry home in her shawl.

Jewish traditions say that the six measures of barley given as a gift to Ruth were a sign of six pious men who would descend from her, endowed with six spiritual gifts: David, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah, and the Messiah.

Without Ruth’s faithfulness and obedience, there would not the lineage of King David and Jesus. Even as a non Jewish decent,  God can still make use of Ruth for future generations.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Every action & words shows your faith. As we are given many opportunity to exercise our faith.

Exercise of faith that can be seen by others. Undisguised Faith can also encourage other.

When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Bible Study On Faith In God

You must have faith like David who will stand until the end no matter what. So that all churches can arise together for the glory of God.

Over come the disappointment,  delay, opposition and giant to gain victory for God.

Despite days of discouragements and disappointments, look towards breakthrough in the market place, schools and Church to become a of missions and Evengelism for all nations.

Bible Study On Transformation

John 2:1-10 tells story of changing water into wine.

7 Things (T’s)To Observe In Story

1. Trouble – They have no wine – in life things run out or crisis in life. There will always be trouble. Is how you respond to it. Cos challenges that grows us.

Look to Jesus in times of trouble. Like Jesus’s mother did. This important to have Jesus in your life in all times.

2. Timings – God always have timing and seasons, as mentioned by Jesus that is not his time yet. Not time yet not mean rejection.

We have to wait for God s timing.  It might be a long wait that it might not happen. But Jesus is a God of breakthrough.

3. Tank (vessel) – we are God’s vessel of transformation. God transformation us so that we can be transformers.

2 types of vessel of honour or dishonour.  Choose to be the later.

4. Thought Out – 6 big vessels. 6 represent man and flesh. Speaks of man being vessels.

Jesus asked that the vessels be  filled with water to the brim. Water represent the spirit and word. To see transformation in your life, we need to top up with Holy Spirit and Word of God regularly.

5. Totally (full) – Jesus ask to draw out wine and to pass to guests.  Freely you received, freely you give.

God wants us to live life to maximum. We need to fill up all 6 tanks and pour out maximum. Is Not ok to just do the minimum to avoid living on fine line.

God bless us to live abundantly in order for us to bless others. How little we can give God before we get into trouble. But we should maximize our minimum.

When we give all we have,  transformation happens. 1Kings 8:16 Ilijah and widow and little flour.

2Kings 4-1 tell story of Widow and oil vessel.

Matthew 25:1 story of 5 wise virgins. 1 brought extra. We should bring extra for God, cos it’s your best.

John 6:1 story of 5 loaves and 2 fishes. Jesus took the boy’s everything, but he return 12 baskets of extras.

6. Tested – every test is opportunity for testimony.  God is interested to know what you will leave behind.

God gives us tests to pass. So that we testimonies.

7. The End – Rom 8:28 all things will work together for good.  The end is always better than the beginning. It’s called Hope, it’s God’s plan and it’s a good ending.

Mother’s Day Special Bible Study On Biblical Motherhood

Being a mother has never been easy in current time as well in ancient time. Besides, taking care of herself, she also needs to take care of her husband, children, parents as well as in-laws. In other words, when a young lady becomes a married women, not only her status changes but also the tremendous amount of household responsibilities that a mother has to shoulder.

A mother’s biggest characteristics is her unconditional love to her children and family. And this mental image of mothers has always been portrayed in commercial advertisements. But do you know that a good mother in biblical perspectives has got even more characteristics to imitate and emulate from.

Nonetheless, the below paragraphs show some of the important loving and godly mother characteristics for us to ponder and reflect.

A Mother Speaks with Wisdom and Kindness

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. (Pro31.26)

A Mother Raises Up Her Family

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. (Pro31.28)

.

A Mother Works Hard And Help Support Her Family

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. (Pro31.31

A Mother Is Kindness and Humility

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (1Co13.4)

A Mother is Gentle and Sensible

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (1Co13.5)

A Mother is the Pillar of Strength

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (1Co13.7)

A Mother Speaks in Wisdom and Authority

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. (1Co13.8)

And last but not least Happy Mother’s Day to all moms and may our God bless you and keep you in this special day.

Christian Bible Study Methods & Approaches Part 1

malmesbury-bible

There are many ways to do bible study in an effective and meaningful way for a casual young Christians to a senior preacher and pastor. Kindly refer to the below paragraphs on the broad definition of Bible study:

In Christianity, Bible study is the study of the Bible by ordinary people as a personal religious or spiritual practice. Some denominations may call this devotion or devotional acts; however in other denominations devotion has other meanings. Bible study in this sense is distinct from biblical studies, which is a formal academic discipline.

In Evangelical Protestantism, the time set aside to engage in personal Bible study and prayer is sometimes informally called a Quiet Time. In other traditions personal Bible study is referred to as “devotions”. Catholic devotions and Anglican devotions both employ the Lectio Divina method of Bible reading.
First and foremost, doing Bible study should be fun and interesting to reader as the Bible is the largest collection of thousand of storybooks of the past that contains the ethernal truth and moral for our lives.

malmesbury-bibleMost casual mordern Christians rarely reads the Bible and only able to finish one or two books of the Bible in a year. Moreover, they only read the Bible when in church and in small groups. Why is it so when Bible scriptures is becoming more readily available online, convenient to carry along and stored in our daily handheld personal mobile devices. Is the hunger for God’s Word not there?

In a nutshell, Bible studies can be categorized and sub-categorized into the following methods and approaches:

1. Personal Bible Study

1.1. Inductive Bible Study

1.2. Exegetical Bible Study

2. Small Groups / Cell Groups Bible Study

(The following will be covered in Part 2)
3. Children Bible Study

4. Bible Memory Verse

5. Sentences, Observation, Analysis & Prayer (SOAP) Method

6. Self Searching & Reflection Method

7. Watching A Biblical Based Movie That Depicts Sections Of The Bible (supplementary learning)

1. Personal Bible Study

1.1. Inductive Bible Study

Inductive Bible study is a means of studying and exegeting a biblical passage. Richard Krejcir describes it terms of “interviewing a passage” without preconceptions or agendas.[1] Inductive Bible study involves examining the ideas and words of the text, which leads to the meanings and then the interpretations, which in turn lead the reader to conclusions and applications.[1] In inductive study, the reader will read a passage and then ask questions of how they personally interpret the verse(s). These questions can range from what the verse(s) literally means to how it applies to the believer’s present personal circumstances. The purpose of these questions is to go deep enough into the text to extract the meaning and then to apply that gained knowledge to life.[2]

The association of Bible study and prayer is an important one. Christians do not merely study the Bible as an academic disciple, but with the desire to know God better. Therefore, they frequently pray that God will give them understanding of the passage being studied. They also consider it necessary to consider what they read with an attitude of respect, rather than the critical attitude which is frequently followed in formal study. To them, the Bible is not just a sacred book, but is the very Word of God, that is, a message from God which has direct relevance to their daily lives.

1.2. Exegetical Bible Study

In this type of study, also goes beyond the surface value of the text. However, the purpose is not so much for personal application as gaining information. Exegetical study is used most often by pastors, theologians, writers, professors, and church leaders in order to prepare for sharing lessons with others. It is often categorized as advanced Bible study and is meant to extract the ideas found in the text for the primary purpose of teaching.[2]

2. Small Groups / Cell Groups Bible Study

Bible study groups within congregations are sometimes known as cell groups, though many different names exist. The Bible is often studied in informal small groups, and groups within parachurch organizations. During these study times, groups will set their main topic to be biblical studies. Though there may exist some form of worship and prayer, the purpose of Bible study is to collectively grasp an understanding of God through His Word. These groups become small communities often sharing this personal journey to discovering the meaning of the passage.
