We have the ability to listen to the voice of God. God calls to His sheeps because My sheep listen to My voice as seen in John: 10. 3. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And seen in John: 10. 27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. We all longed to hear the voice of the shepard.
We can learn the ability to listen to our shepherd like a children. God teaches us to listen to Him through our prayers. Like Luke we ask Lord to teach us how to pray. In order to hear His voice we need to make appointment with God, to slow down our pace and to hear His beautiful voice. Because our Creator knows us and so do we know our great mighty God as illustrated in John: 10. 14. I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me.
As Christians and more so as humans we have to go to God because we are dumb by nature, directionless without education and depend on God for our everything because He is the author and perfecter of our life. And He will begin to direct us through His voice one step at a time as seen in John: 10. 4. When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. God wants us to bring us into His fold so that He can lead us as one flock into green pastures as described in John: 10. 16. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.
We need to grow and nurture our communication skills with God. We need to mature in the Word of God in order to discern the voice of God, because what we hear are not all are the voice of God and it can be mixed up with the voice of the devil and our flesh, as justified by Jesus apostle in John: 8. 47. He that is of God heareth the words of God: for this cause ye hear [them] not, because ye are not of God. We need to understand that the voice of God will never contradict the Word of God.
We also need to have the desire to bring the gentiles and non Christians to Christ Jesus, because He wants to bring them to quiet green pastures and gentle sparking streams and let our gentle Shepard to be our guide as described in John: 10. 16. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.
