Bible Study on Raining Heaven’s Blessings From The Promise Of The Holy Spirit Through Faith In Christ Jesus according to Acts 2:14-16, 33, Luke 11:13, Galatians 3:14, Exodus 6:6, 1 Corinthians 10:6-7, Isaiah 12:3-4

During the day of the Pentecost, where all the Apostles gathered with the multitudes, a strange event happened as explained by apostle Peter linking to a previous incident of Prophet Joel speaking in tongues as seen in Acts: 2. 14. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spake forth unto them, [saying], Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and give ear unto my words. Acts: 2. 15. For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day. Acts: 2. 16. but this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel:

What the previous knew where reserved for the few spiritual superstar I.e. Prophet Joel, Jesus’s Apostles, etc is now open to all who believed in Christ Jesus. God has poured out the Holy Spirit. Apostle Peter says we will be filled with God’s promise, that promise that flow through of the exalted at God’s right hand and is described in Acts: 2. 33. Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.

People who are negative and cynical towards the Holy Spirit will never ever receive the blessings of the Holy Spirit as seen in Luke: 11. 13. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? On the other hand, evil people shall only receive ‘gifts’ from their evil parents. But the ‘gifts and favors’ from the devil requires evil covenants and soul transactions and in the end it will cost you and your family line deeply, in terms of bad luck, ill health, turmoil, despair, fear, demonic oppressions, spirit attacks, etc. As children of God, we need to trust in Him that He will shower us with all His blessings and gifts, provided we remain faithful to Him as promised in Galatians: 3. 14. that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The land of Ancient Egypt is depicted as ‘lossness’ in the Holy Bible. Whereas the huge migration of the Hebrew slaves towards the Red Sea is depicted as a sign of ‘deliverance’ from bondage. While the passage across the parted Red Sea is the symbol of their ‘redemption’ of God. Exodus: 6. 6. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments: Exodus: 6. 8. And I will bring you in unto the land which I sware to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am Jehovah.

And the entering into the promised land of Canaan does not typify heaven more so it typifies the fullness of life that is bind by Christ Jesus’s redemption in His purest blood; for our Lord is the sinless perfection of the Son of man. In between the Red Sea and the promised land is the wilderness that is full of losses, lust, liar, slander, impatience, disobedient, defiance, anger,  complaints, murmuring and idol worship of the Canaan deity Baal in the form of a calf, etc. God did not save us just to brings us into heaven but to be like Jesus on earth. Similarly, God bring the Israelites out of Egypt so that they can enter the wilderness. It is a trial for the children of Israel before they can enter into the land filed with milk and honey.

Jesus is the channel between the first stage and second stage, from being in the wilderness to testimonies of God’s redemption.Jesus says let them thirst come to me. God cannot do anything to those who does not have the hunger and thirst to focus unto Him. God will always meet the person at the level of your desperation and thirst. God never rewards a shallow thirst and casual hunger for just a plate or a cup of the Holy Spirit, whereas our belly in constantly full with extravagant and wasteful “first class food”. If you got the deep hunger for all of the Holy Spirit and big Holy discontent in our soul, God will meet you there and then. There got to be more and we shall never be satisfied. And the Holy Spirit can only satisfy your thirst.

If we don’t feel thirsty yet, we need to pray to God to make us thirsty. God says if you are thirsty come to me, not go to the altar and beg for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will always response to our call to Christ Jesus as Jesus is the center and ‘commander in chief’ of God’s legions of army of heaven. Your relationship with the Son of man determines your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Jesus says take a drink if you are thirsty, it is simple. We need to  appropriate our situation. Any transaction with God is 2 fold, I.e. God gives and we need to accept.

There must be a believing, a continuous life of a believer day by day. And not just enjoying the ‘thrill of the fill’ of the day and going about life as of a circus show. We need to be servants of overflowing service to God’s Kingdom in the areas of our own calling . 1 Corinthians: 10. 6. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

There must be a over flowing of living water. We are not just ’empty buckets’ to be filled everyday, we are the fountain of the Holy Spirit springing with living water. Because, we are never meant to be empty of God’s blessings and never to be abandoned, cursed and chocked by our own sins. Jesus says you provide the river bed, I provide the rivers of living water as declare by prophet Isaiah: 12. 3. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. 4. And in that day shall ye say, Give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name, declare his doings among the peoples, make mention that his name is exalted. If we are not willing to be overflowing of blessings onto others that are dying, suffering, dire and despair, we will never have overflowing streams but only some showers of blessings. It is God’s test on us in overcoming our greed and lust for worldly and material things and to focus back on our ‘source for everything’. We should strive to progress from light showers to raining cats and dogs to heavy downpour to thunder storm to tornado cyclone typhoon of blessings from heaven. We know that God Almighty can do all these and far more; why not have Your will upon us when we are ‘thirstiest’ there and then; where we are desperately longing and soul out faithful only to you my Lord, my God.
