Bible Study on Entering God’s Rest according to Matthew 11:28-29, Hebrews 3:7-11, Matthew 4:1-4, Genesis 2:1-4, Hebrews 6:28, Genesis 3:17, Hebrews 4:9-11

Rest is the confidence, peace, a belief that everything already prepared, provided for us. We believe in God that He has provided us all things like success, blessings, super natural peace, love, healing, career, provisions, that you will be the head and not the tail. And that you will be the top and not the bottom.

Rest is the greatest expression of faith. How much do you trust Jesus for all your provision. Jesus once said don’t worry, don’t stress as in Matthew: 11. 28. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Can you trust God enough that He will provide you everything for doing nothing? Do you trust what you see and hear in this World or what the Holy Spirit guides you as mentioned in Hebrews: 3. 7. Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, 8. Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness.

God have prepared everything for the children of Israel I.e. cities that have yet been built and wells have yet been dug. They just need to trust in God and move in. But because of the disobedient of that generation, they never get to enter into the promised land as recorded in Hebrews: 3. 9. Where your fathers tried [me] by proving [me,] And saw my works forty years. 10. Wherefore I was displeased with this generation, And said, They do always err in their heart: But they did not know my ways; 11. As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.

Fight of faith is the battle of our mind and heart. Hebrews: 4. 1. Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it. 2. For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.

Having faith in the works of Jesus and that He has set us free. Can we believe in it. It’s finished work but a person shall not have it because s/he did not believe that the finished works of God existed in the first place as described in Hebrews: 4. 3. For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews: 4. 4. For he hath said somewhere of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;
From above scripture, God rested on the 7th day because all His creations was finished. Man was created on the Sabbath so as to enjoy the rest of God. Genesis: 2. 1. And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2. And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

Work is a good thing. Work is the only way to gifts, develop potential and serve others. Work is useful, pleasure and hope. For God is against toil. Toil is hard, continuous labor marked by strife,  struggle, weariness and pain.
Genesis: 3. 17. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

We shall work hard but not work to the ground. We shall allow space for God to do His work or for faith to kick in. For everything has already been prepared for us already as reminded in Matthew: 6. 28. And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin.And again in Matthew: 11. 29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Before we can have deliverance or success, we need to have rest first  as seen in Hebrews: 4. 9. There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God. 10. For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. 11. Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

Everything in the Kingdom of God is about sowing and reaping. With trust in God, when we vision our liberation, that is faith. When we refuse to let the Kingdom to slip away, that is diligence. And when we continue to sow into His kingdom with whatever little or alot He has blessed us with, that is obedience to God. For God is has already finished His work in us.
