Jesus asked them to row across the sea of Galilee after feeding the multitudes with 5 loaves and 2 fish. The disciples were rowing against the wind and tides and were feeling very tired and confused. When When Jesus disciples saw Him on the sea, they were afraid and called Him ghost. As recorded in the following scriptures. Matthew: 14. 22. And straightway he constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side, till he should send the multitudes away. 23. And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when even was come, he was there alone. 24. But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary. 25. And in the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea. 26. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear.
Sometimes in life, somes stones of miscommunication, misunderstanding will hit our heart and we will suffer shattered vision and cannot see clearly the things ahead. We might also feel disappointed and angry with our surroundings and even the church for leaving them helpless.
When we are confused and disappointed with people and feel the pain, we do not wish to continue with the relationship, or see that person’s face. We continue nursing our wounds and hurts and continue to feel more depressed and resentful. However, if we take action to leave the boat and step out and let God into our lives. The storm might stop and God’s peace and calm will come as witnessed when Jesus aboard the disciples boat. Matthew 14:31. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32. And when they were gone up into the boat, the wind ceased. 33. And they that were in the boat worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
When we are very hurt, we tend to go hiding and become invisible to the world. We might need some personal time heal and reflect. As long as we focus on Jesus and not focused on the surrounding storm, Jesus will bring us out of our storm. For the Lord has enough grace for all of us and He will bring us to a better place. We need to grow up and grow to be better Christ disciples through His Word and salvation as showned in Matthew 14:27. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto the upon the waters. 29. And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus. 30. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.
For the Lord is a loving God, when he asked us to step out into the sea. We will step out by faith, for His grace is enough for us cos He has overcome the grave. When He comes to us on the 4th watch in the midst of our storm, no storm will last forever if we declare the name of the Lord over our lives. Remember to call out His glorious name for help for our God is able.
