Bible Study on Worshiping And Serving In God’s Ministries For God’s Glory And Love according to Ephisians 1:20-21, Matthew 23:9-12, Hebrews 12:23-27, Acts 25:5-8

Have we allowed Jesus to be the center of our life? And how do we honor God, revere Him and adore Him not only in our celebration services, we also need to praise and worship him at home and at our work place? In the end, how high we want to go in this world starts with how we remember our God, honor our God and prioritize our God in our daily lives and business. Because when we honor God and when we take God seriously, we will see breakthroughs in many areas and not necessarily confined to areas of business, wealth and financial success that the world measures and values.

Jesus has all the authority of His Father God and has the final say on all things. Yet Jesus does not hoard the power but give it to us His heavenly authority and powers  in the form of spiritual and other gifts far beyond our imagination and comprehension as described in Ephesians: 1. 20. which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly [places], 21. far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And seen again in Matthew: 23. 9. And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, [even] he who is in heaven.

Jesus is in charge of everything in  the Kingdom of God and the whole universe. In the center, Christ rules the church and everything revolves around Him. The world is peripheral to church. For the church is the ‘government’ of God on earth, namely to followers of Christ. Although many quarters believe that there should be separation of politics from religion, but as the world revolves and changes thus we do need to be politically correct to understand that God rules the heaven as well as down here on earth. And the church is the body of Christ. Yet the church is still imperfect because the church comprises of all imperfect people like us.

When Jesus is King thus the Church is the colony of heaven and our worship service is the throne rooms of God. Christian are citizens of heaven as seen in Hebrews: 12. 23. to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24. and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than [that of] Abel. And we need to give thanks and praise to God, the Son of God, Holy Spirit as well as Spirit of just men.

We are meant to worship God for the love of God. All the praise and worship represents the church’s love unto God. Worshiping our glorious King with awe and thanks giving on all blessings and providence we received as preached in Matthew: 23. 12. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted. Giving thanks giving and praises to Father God is a form of humbling ourselves before God and God likes humble and meek people like our Lord God Savior. Compared to the self-pride and egoistic, self-centered people who have no place for God in their hearts and minds. Therefore, God is unable to use these people for His kingdom and what more to bless them with some favors and easiness in life. The word Exalt in Greek is hupsoo which means elevated. Whereas Humble in Greek is tapeinoo meaning abased or depressed.

According to Christ in order to lead, one must learn to serve. Matthew: 23. 10. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, [even] the Christ. 11. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. The word Master in Greek is Kathegetes meaning leader. Whereas Servant in Greek is Diakonos which refers to Deacon or Minister or even today’s Pastor. Hence, like His Teacher and Lord God, every Reverend, Pastor and Priest, no matter how qualified, popular, influential and even ‘Super Powered’ is no more than God’s Servant with a passion to care, love and serve his members. For the heart and goal of the Son of Man is in His people. Nonetheless, when people are busy and dedicated in serving, we must not hinder or take advantage of their good will and good nature.

The second aspect of worship is meaning what we praise. Worship in the courts of heaven with great reverence and awe starts by being on time to service and worship with our heart out and soul out attitude; As it is necessary to declare and honor Him, because during the celebration congregation God and or His angles may be present when we call on Their names and give Them glory. It is possible to be present throughout the service and singing without really worshiping and praising God I.e. body present but absent of the mind and spirit. Because sometimes people are distracted by too many things of the world that matters little in the end.

Serving in the Kingdom of God, so that the government of God is in action and in control on earth and the devil will be shaken by His glory and will have to leave as depicted in Hebrews: 12. 26. whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. 27. And this [word], Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. 28. Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe:

Apostle Paul or Saint Paul who not only fervently served in the early Churches in the region of Tarsus or modern day Turkey. But he consecrated his life for Christ and worked fervently for 20+ years on the proclamation and propagation of the Word of God. After he was blinded by the glory of God and started receiving the Word and Vision from God, it was his destiny in fulfillment, which eventually led to him writing almost 2/3 of the new testament in the Holy Bible.

Like his master Christ Jesus, he became Nero’s scape goat for the burning of Rome in AD67 and he was trialed and executed in the following Biblical history in
Acts: 25. 5. Let them therefore, saith he, that are of power among you go down with me, and if there is anything amiss in the man, let them accuse him. 6. And when he had tarried among them not more than eight or ten days, he went down unto Caesarea; and on the morrow he sat on the judgment-seat, and commanded Paul to be brought. 7. And when he was come, the Jews that had come down from Jerusalem stood round about him, bringing against him many and grievous charges which they could not prove; 8. while Paul said in his defense, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar, have I sinned at all. Apostle Paul remarked l that ‘as I have obeyed the law is rubbish’. What Paul meant is his single minded focus after his encounter is to gain Christ. When we have a single minded obsession with Jesus, it will transform the way we read the Bible and share the gospel. We must never disguise the truth of Christ. We can say to the world, you can take everything I have but give me Jesus, even it might cause you dearly and even your life.

Like the book of Acts, the Churches of Acts of the past and the future are churches that is while heartly obedient to God and have a single minded obsession of Jesus. It involves all of us to reach out to the community and preach the Gospel. This type of church has the power through the relationship with Christ Jesus and has potential to transform people and impact communities. A church that models after the deeds and actions of Christ’s apostles will forever embrace Jesus as King and Lord God. Likewise, being little apostles and ambassadors are urged to know the King of heaven.
