Do you wish to live a purposeful life? Do you sometimes feel lost in the wilderness without the directions and presence of God? Life is just like a dream or like a ‘box of chocolate, not know what surprises and endulgement awaits’. It is imperative that we see life like a mist.
Life is sometimes like a gusty wind that quietly goes away or leave behind a trail of destruction like a tornado or typhoon.
Sometimes like a rain, life have thunder and storm and also calm with clear sky. Or is life like a mist that fades with the rising sun. Or is it like fluffy clouds that drifts off without a trace. Life is momentary like a play or a show that has to end even when we are at the height of our acting or carrier. Life is clueless, uncontrollable and unforgiving like a mist as seen in James: 4. 13. Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain: 14. whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that.
Life is like your palm that is short and has no comparison at all with the greatness of God as in Psalm: 39. 5. Behold, thou hast made my days [as] handbreadths; And my life-time is as nothing before thee: Surely every man at his best estate is altogether vanity. Selah. Make no mistake it is God’s will that allow us to live for His pleasure. What is important in life is to have early realization of what life is, because life is short, fragile and uncontrollable. Actually our life is just like our palm waving in the mist, where sometimes we see it and sometimes we don’t. Being deceived ourselves, yet we can feel it is there.
Life is seasonal, temporary and transient like the day and night that changes and fades swiftly as depicted in Psalm: 90. 4. For a thousand years in thy sight Are but as yesterday when it is past, And as a watch in the night. 9. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: We bring our years to an end as a sigh. 10. The days of our years are threescore years and ten, Or even by reason of strength fourscore years; Yet is their pride but labor and sorrow; For it is soon gone, and we fly away. As mentioned in the Holy Bible that the life expectancy of humans are around 70. If blessed with immaculate health perhaps around 80. If we are lucky and ‘smart enough’ perhaps above 80 or 90. But sometimes longevity is also filled with hardship and sorrow.
Hence, we need to be grateful and thankful to God. We need to treasure the people around you and learn to take care of others. We need to learn to treasure our limited time left and must live life to the max. In order to live a fruitful live, we need to take care of our health physically and emotionally. Of course, we also need to be healthy socially and spend quality time with family, relatives, acquaintances, friends and even online buddies.
We must choose to work hard and make preparations for the Lord today despite our circumstances. We must rejoice in Christ Jesus our Lord God despite there is no harvest and herd in the land and barns. Habakkuk: 3. 17. For though the fig-tree shall not flourish, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labor of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no food; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18. Yet I will rejoice in Jehovah, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Because we are forever grateful of God greatest gift of salvation and redemption for our lives. Let God direct our paths and His paths are always our best ways as advised in Proverbs: 16. 9. A man’s heart deviseth his way; But Jehovah directeth his steps.
