Bible Study on Let The Scarlet Thread Of Christ Jesus Weaves Through The Tapestry Of Our Destiny according to Joshua 2:1-24, Hebrews 11:31, Isaiah 1:18, Matthew 27:28-31

Be strong and courageous to do great things for our generation. Because of 1 women who is a misfit and a prostitute impacted a whole generation. See what God can do through a Harlot named Rahab and that continued a scarlet lineage leading to the Messiah. Will you surrender your story to God’s bigger story? Can you see what God can do great through you?

The story began with Joshua and the Israelites laying seige upon and ancient oasis city and Johovah’s promised land of Jericho. Jericho is well irrigated by wells and Sultan Spring, protected by city walls and watch tower and is one of the oldest ancient human town settlement discovered dating back to 8000BC. Joshua: 2. 1. And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men as spies secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a harlot whose name was Rahab, and lay there. 2. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to-night of the children of Israel to search out the land. 3. And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, that are entered into thy house; for they are come to search out all the land. 8. And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; 9. and she said unto the men, I know that Jehovah hath given you the land, and that the fear of you is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. Joshua 2. 12. Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by Jehovah, since I have dealt kindly with you, that ye also will deal kindly with my father’s house, and give me a true token; 13. and that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death. 17. And the men said unto her, We will be guiltless of this thine oath which thou hast made us to swear. 18. Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt gather unto thee into the house thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household. 23. Then the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun; and they told him all that had befallen them. 24. And they said unto Joshua, Truly Jehovah hath delivered into our hands all the land; and moreover all the inhabitants of the land do melt away before us.

God looks beyond labels and meets you where you are. God met Rahab who was only a prostitute, but she understood and obeyed God by faith and she did the right things as seen in Hebrews: 11. 31. By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with them that were disobedient, having received the spies with peace. We might be looking around for substances or relationship to solve our misfit and seeking around for acceptance and approval. But none will prove permanent or worthy, unless we can go down on our knees to seek God.

God is able and always has great plans for us all and God looks for faith not for perfection in us. Do you have faith and belief in God? Even it may be smaller than a mustard seed, but God can only save us if we have faith. Your past and present sins do not dictate His plans of forgiveness in your future. God mercies do not leave where we are here now as God’s redemption is far beyond bounds.

The scarlet thread signifies royalty and ruler bestowed by the divine in heaven above and the significance of scarlet symbol lies in the Bible in Isaiah: 1. 18. Come now, and let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. And the scarlet rob which was put on by the Roman soldiers on Jesus can be seen in Matthew: 27. 28. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29. And they platted a crown of thorns and put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30. And they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head. 31. And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the robe, and put on him his garments, and led him away to crucify him.

Sometimes we have heard motivating stories or encouraging stories or impossible to overcome miracles. We need to hear more of these stories so that we can find the marking of Jesus at work in your story and how He can do the same in our lives. Our God is worth following, because He is a God of mercy, salvation and redemption as seen in Joshua 2:10. For we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan, unto Sihon and to Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. 11. And as soon as we had heard it, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more spirit in any man, because of you: for Jehovah your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath.

All of us carry a story, let us surrender our stories to God’s big story to leave a Godly legacy behind. As long as we trust and obeyed Him, our stories will fit into God’s mighty story book. All of us have a label no matter how big or small, how high or low. God is willing to meet us where we are and use our brokenness to do great things that we can not even imagine; for He is beyond labels, His grace and love is beyond bounds, for He strong in your weakness.
